Magic Hour

Sometimes even a contrail polluted sky is worthy of a little camera time.

Bugs and Posies

Just so I'm not to monotonous, this will be the last Bug-On-A-Posey picture this week. This is the 4th one in 2 weeks. I'll hold out at least until next week before I bore you with any more.

On a Wing

I think the reason I haven't been down along the spring yet this year is that you get in a rut and think, "I've already taken that picture". But, you know, I'm glad I dragged my butt out of bed at 10am. You never know what could happen, what picture you might capture and which ones you won't. While setting up for the picture of the bee I posted Sunday, I caught movement to my right. A mink runs across the road not 20 feet away from me. No picture. These egrets, though, I caught them.

Got Milk?

The end of summer marks the end of the milkweed. Soon, real soon, the seeds will scatter into the wind for parts unknown. Or at least into the neighbors yard. But, at least, they'll look cool doing it.

Bee Amazed

After a long time I finally have some free time. This morning, well late morning, I drove to Big Spring and took a walk along the spring. Just taking pictures of this and that. The bees were making some final pollen runs before it's all gone 'til next spring.

Fannett-Metal Fire and Ambulance Company

Fannett-Metal Fire and Ambulance Company, 18778 West Dry Run Road, West, Dry Run, Pa. Franklin County Company 12. Not much could be found on their website about their history or the history of the building. There is a cornerstone way up above the doors. If it's for the building it was built in 1977. The history link does show a picture of their first engine, a 1931 Seagrave purchased from the Vigilant Hose Company in Shippensburg, in 1950. On January 20, 2003 EMT/Firefighter Kieth Hess died in a collapse at a house fire in the village of Blairs Mills, Pa. Kieth was also a volunteer and Lieutenant at West End Fire and Rescue in Shippensburg.

Last Friday Night's Football

Shippensburg Homecoming game. Greyhounds vs James Buchanan High School's Rockets. It was a slow start and seemed to be an even match  but the Hounds persisted and wore them down. Final was 28 - 6 in the home team's favor. I wasn't even gonna take the camera in. Heck, my kids are out of school. But I'm glad I did. I got to play with the T4i's higher ISO and my f4.0 zoom lens.
