Olympiapark Munich

One of the things we liked to do in Germany when we got some time off was to take the train to Munich. I think I was there six times. We would catch the train in K-Town at midnight  and arrive in Munich around 6am. Nothing was open at 6 so we would take the subway to Olympiapark and walk around. This trip was my third trip in November 1985. Pictures include the back side of Olympic Stadium, the front of Olympic Stadium, dormitories, the Olympic Tower and the Olympic Swimming pool. This would be the pool Mark Spitz did his gold medal thing in.

Frauenkirche, Munich

The Cathedral of Our Dear Lady in Munich, Germany is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and the seat of the Archbishop. It sits in downtown Munich and is visible from all over the city. The church (kirche) of our Dear Lady (frauen) was completed in 1494 and the domes were added in 1524. This picture (a two picture panorama) was taken during my first visit down to the Bavarian capitol in July of 1985.

Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company, Black Horse Station

Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company, Black Horse Station, 4352 Norrisville Road, White Hall, Md. Harford County Company 7. The volunteer  fire company formed in 1929 in Jarrettsville, ambulance service started in 1956. Land was purchased in the Black Horse area to buid a substation in 1983. The new station was dedicated in September 1985.

Around the Corner

Spring may be just around the corner, but until then... it's still winter. I don't think that I need to remind you of that.

Video City

Does anyone still remember renting videos? Wandering the aisles looking at the empty boxes, taking it up to the counter. Leaving a check with them in case you didn't bring it back? Paying your fines because you didn't"Be Kind and Rewind". Usually pick up a soda and a bag of microwave popcorn.
