The Baltimore Orioles are the American League East Champions. First time since 1997. I wish I could have been there. That would've been awesome. Let's Go O's!!!

Roger Centre

Our new Major League Stadium for 2014 was Rogers Centre in Toronto. We caught the final home stand against the Orioles on a Thursday evening. Rogers is the Canadian communications giant who bought and renamed the Skydome in 2005. Rogers Centre is the first stadium with a fully motorized retractable roof. OPened in 1989 it is the home of Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays and the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts. The Blue Jay's mascot is Ace his friend there is Pachi the Porcupine, the mascot for the upcoming Pan-Am and Parapan games to be held in Toronto in 2015. Last Sunday's Sun Dog

This past weekend was a bust for the northern lights, but last Sunday we caught a sun dog close to sunset.

Ketchikan Fire Department, old station

Ketchikan Fire Department, old station, 319 Main Street, Ketchikan, Alaska.  Ketchikan Gateway County. Ketchikan Fire Department was started soon after 1900 when Ketchikan was incorporated and they appointed an Fire Warden. Apparatus arrived in 1903 and soon afterwards came the first station on Main Street. That firehouse was replaced in 1943 by another station on Main Street (the one shown here). In 2012 they opened their new station on Bawden Street. Ketchikan is a combination career and volunteer department.

Niagara Falls is Falling Down

Or so it would seem. These two buildings are in the Clifton Hill district of Niagara Falls, Ontario. Both are on Oneida Lane, Ripley's is actually on Clifton Hill. This place looks a lot different in the daylight.

Patriots Day, year 13

Has it been 13 years? Can you believe it? Half of the kids in school have been born since 2001. (kindergarten through 7th or 8th grade) Do you think they are teaching them about that day? Do you think they are explaining how to avoid this happening again? Well, today I'll be thinking about those lost that morning and those who continue to see that it doesn't happen again. Thank you for your service. Remember that the war on terror didn't start with the attacks on the World Trade Center. Our troops had been on that front line for a long time before that and will forever need to fight that fight.
