Bendersville Community Fire Company

Bendersville Community Fire Company. 144 Park Street, Bendersville, Pa. Adams County Company 7. BCFC was first organized on July 8, 1914 as the Union Fire Company. In 1932 they changed their name to Bendersville Community Fire Company and formed a Ladies Auxiliary. Their old station at 119 Park Street was built in 1952 and added onto in 1970. Prior to this they rented space at the local IOOF hall. In August 2002 they broke ground for a new station and moved into it in November 2003.

Yellow Warbler

It's been a while since I've ran onto a first. This is my first (identified) Yellow Warbler. Heck, it's my first warbler. Found her along the Big Spring. I knew it didn't have enough black to be a goldfinch, so I figured some kind of warbler.

Backyard Birds 5/8/15

These are just a sampling of the birds that were in and around my backyard Friday evening. 1. House Finch 2. Bronze-headed Cowbird 3. Northern Cardinal 4. Mourning Dove 5 & 6. Northern Flicker. Not pictured include American Robin, Blue Jay, Common Grackle, House Sparrow and a Red-winged Blackbird.

Laying Low

My Sunday walk along the Big Spring brought a bounty of birds. This pair of Canada Geese were doing there best limbo and getting as low as they could go.
