Lackland AFB, Texas, FD 1983

Back again to the old pictures. These were taken on the same day as the San Antonio pictures. These are on Lackland Air Force Base and were taken on Town Pass Day near the end of basic training. The station must be on of the substations for the Base Fire Department. And the Powerwagon was Rescue 7. I can kind of make out the street sign as George Street? When I look at the military FD websites I found a substation but it wasn't this one. My guess is that this building probably no longer exists.

If I can remember right Lackland had three if not four stations. The Engine sitting in the fire house is a P-12 Pumper made by Ward LaFrance. As for the Rescue, what can I say. Rode back seat for for a year and drove for a year when I was was in England
