After our nature tour in Haines, Alaska we took a short walk from the ship through what was Fort William H. Seward to the Fireweed Restaurant. A couple slices of pizza and a Spruce Tip Ale. Yes, It is brewed with real spruce tips. And it did taste like it. Later we took the town bus for a few laps around the area. One of the stops was at the Haines Brewing Company located at the Southeast Alaska Fairgrounds in a building the was moved here after the filming of the movie White Fang. Neat setup they had. There was other small shops in some of the buildings. I'm sure that once it's fairtime the place gets hopping. Get it? Brewing? Hopping? Oh, well.
