Erie Fire Department, old Central Station, 144 West 12th Street (PA-5), Erie, Pennsylvania. Erie County Department 32. Volunteer fire service began in Erie with the in 1826. The city career department formed in 1871 and currently run out of 7 stations. the Old Central Station was built 1931. It was, a one point, home to Engine Company 3. The firehouse was closed, possibly in the late 1990's when the new Central Station opened just a block west on West 12th Street.
