A Walk on the Wild Side

It's that time of the year. The woods are full of babies. I've spent some time in the woods in the past few weeks. I've seen some deer, a turkey, plenty of squirrels and birds, lots of birds. Just sitting out at Mom & Dad's last night we saw a red-headed woodpecker and two hummingbirds. This little one walked right up to me and bedded down not 15 feet away and by shear luck I had my camera. This was 6 or 7 years ago on an abandoned airstrip in Logan, WV. Logan is very near to Hatfield and McCoy country. Gotta keep your head low and watch your Yankee accent down in those parts.
