"Imagine there's no Heaven. It's easy if you try. No hell below us. Above us only sky. Imagine all the people, Living for today." John Lennon 1971
This is the John Lennon memorial in the Strawberry Fields area of Central Park in New York City. Located across Central Park West from the Dakota Apartments where John Lennon, former Beatle, and his wife Yoko Ono lived. On December 8, 1980 John was murdered as he left his car and was entering the apartment building. Yoko still live there. Yesterday's picture was part of the railing that surrounds the Dakota. Last weekend we parked near here, just around the corner and closer to 74th Street and walked to Strawberry Fields and then on through the park. This mosaic was placed as a memorial to John by Yoko Ono on what would have been his 45th birthday, October 9, 1985.
"You may say that I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will be as one ."
