This old abandoned factory sits along Front Street between Harrisburg and Steelton, Pa. This longtime empty fortress could be the scene of a lot of pictures. I only stopped for a few. Google was no help finding anything out about Robbins other than there may have been more.

Looks like this is part of the Robbins Sash and Door empire. They dealt in millwork and building materials.
A 1951 catalog on ebay says on the cover that they've been around for 75 years, suggesting that the company goes way back to 1876!
This is sure an interesting building, and if you look closely along the base facing Cameron St. (not Front Street, though it is right by the river), there is a stone insert commemorating the high water mark dated June 2, 1889.
We currently live in a house that was built on an old train shipyard. I was out with my metal detector and found two ROBBINS door hinges. Can't seem to find out anything about them. Any ideas?
We passed this building today on our drive and we were wondering what the heck it said on the side. Thanks for posting this :D
