The Pullman Automobile Company produced between 12,000 and 23,000 luxury autos from their plant in York, Pennsylvania, from 1905 until it ceased operations in 1917. They were named after but not affiliated to the Pullman Company that built luxury rail cars. In 1910 a roadster model sold for $1650 to $3200. They actually built a 3 axle - six wheeled version, just one, that had a tendency to see-saw on a high point in the road. This experiment ended at the same time it crashed into a telephone pole.

The company name was the York Motor Car Company, makers of Pullman Automobiles, so named for their smooth ride and elegant styling, just like the Pullman railroad cars of the day.
